A Shopping Trip

Susan and Joyce were going shopping because Susan wanted to look (1) a new dress for the tennis club dance. Her father had driven them to Orchard Road and dropped them (2) at the roadside just in front of their favourite shop. However, he told them that he could not pick them (3) there because it was a no-parking area. “Even if we arrange a particular time, I could not guarantee that I would be here,” Susan’s father had said. “The traffic wardens would most likely move me (4) .”
The girls had told him not to bother to pick them up. Then they entered the shop and spent some time just looking, anxious to nose (5) some bargains. After a while, they picked (6) several dresses and skirts from the display rails. “Let’s try these (7) in the changing room,” said Joyce. They had to queue, but finally they had a cubicle each. Susan put (8) a short blue dress and went to Joyce’s cubicle to show her. As she opened her curtain, Joyce covered herself (9) with her coat, saying, “Close the curtain, Susan! I’m in my underwear and people will see me!”
Susan decided that the dress did not suit her and Joyce agreed. She went back into her cubicle to take (10) the dress and decided that she did not want to shop anymore that day. Since Joyce agreed, they went in search for a café.
